A Practical Fabric Guide for Performance Teamwear

Bird-eye, interlock, mesh, and stretch twill explained for buyers who specify uniforms across several sports.

Match fabric to heat, friction, and decoration

Basketball and soccer jerseys usually want lighter bird-eye or mesh so heat can escape. Baseball pants and football pants need heavier stretch twill because they take slide and stance abrasion. Cycling jerseys add elastane so the garment stays put in an aero position.

Decoration method matters as much as GSM. Full sublimation loves polyester. Embroidery and tackle twill need a stable enough ground fabric so stitches do not pucker.

Ask for wash and colorfastness targets

Club kits live in industrial or household washers. Ask your manufacturer to confirm colorfastness and shrinkage targets on the approved sample, then keep that sample as the gold standard for bulk. Beera Sports retains sealed references for repeat seasons so year-two reorders stay aligned.

Do not over-spec the fabric if the sport does not need it

Heavier is not automatically better. Extra GSM can trap heat and raise cost without improving durability for a soccer academy jersey. Specify the sport, the climate, and the expected wash count, then let the mill options follow those constraints.
